Police: 14-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Falsifying Drive-by Shooting, And Shooting Younger Brother

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 12, 2014)– A 14-year-old boy is in Kent County Juvenile Detention Saturday morning for falsifying claims of a drive-by shooting.

According to Grand Rapids police, the boy was home alone with his 12-year-old brother in the basement handling a handgun. The younger brother was struck near the jaw with a bullet fragment when the gun was shot. The older brother then called 9-1-1, reporting a drive-by shooting.

The gun was reported stolen.

The younger brother was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be O.K.
