KALAMAZOO, Mich (July 6, 2014)–The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating the shooting death of a man near the intersection of Church and Norway in Kalamazoo.

Friends have identified the victim as Orlando Walker. As of Sunday night, Walker’s Facebook page was filled with loved ones writing their condolences on his passing.

Investigators said the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. on Sunday night.

It’s unclear if Walker drove himself or was driven to Bronson Hospital. Walker was pronounced dead shortly after with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

Another victim was found a block away from the location of the shooting with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Witnesses tell FOX 17 that Sunday night’s shooting was retaliation after a physical altercation at the same intersection on July 4, 2014.

Witnesses told officers that the shooter ran into a nearby home. KDPS officers surrounded the home while waiting for a search warrant to be signed.
