According to a news release thanks to an Amway grant, the American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids is offering a 50 percent discount on Babysitter’s Training this summer. The training is designed for youth between 11 and 15 years old to learn the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants.
The normal cost for Babysitter’s Training is $85, but the Red Cross is offering a 50 percent discount if students use the coupon code P254AMWAY0914 when registering for the training.
The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids will be offering Babysitter’s Training courses at the Red Cross office on 1050 Fuller Ave. NE from 9:00am-4:00pm on the following dates:
July 12
July 16
July 21
August 9
August 14
August 20
Babysitter’s Training includes lessons on basic care for children and infants, basic health and safety for children, first aid, babysitting business tips and leadership development. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and pack a lunch.
For those who would like to learn more about babysitting but have busy schedules, the Red Cross also offers an online course called Babysitting Basics, which is $25 and can be taken at any time. The 50 percent discount does not apply to the Babysitting Basics course.
