Neighbor Dispute Leads To Shots Fired

GENEVA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (June 28, 2014)- One man was taken to the Van Buren County Jail after a dispute between neighbors lead to gun shots being fired.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, Deputies arrived at a residence in the 61000 block of County Road 380 in Geneva Township on Wednesday, to find several subjects in a dispute at the end of the driveway. Deputies say Daren Clouse exited his a camper on the property armed with a 12 gauge shotgun and fired four shots over the subject’s head standing at the end of the driveway.

A female involved with the dispute pulled a 9mm handgun from her waistband and fired several shots into the ground in self-defense. Witnesses say that Clouse pointed his shotgun at two subjects during the dispute.

Mr. Clouse was arrested at the scene and charged with felonious assault and was taken to the Van Buren County Jail. Mr. Clouse is expected to be in court July 9th.
