COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (June 22, 2014)– A man is in the hospital with serious injuries Sunday morning.
According to Kent County Sheriff’s Department, they responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle Saturday night at around 10:30 p.m. The accident happened on Alpine Ave. near York Creek Dr.
Police say that 19-year-old Joseph Edwards was trying to cross Alpine Ave. when he was struck by an SUV traveling northbound. Joseph was thrown into the air, and after he landed on the pavement was struck by another vehicle also traveling northbound.
Joseph suffered serious injuries including a broken leg, pelvis, and lacerations. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. His current status is unknown at this time.
According to police, alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in this accident.
