COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (June 11, 2014) — Chances are, you and your smart phone are inseparable. The wireless market is changing to reflect all the ways we use our phones on a daily basis.
Friday, Verizon will open its first smart store in West Michigan.
“When you first walk in, you’ll notice the layout is different,” explained Ken Humphrey, General Manager of the new location in Comstock Park.
Along with all the accessories you’d expect from the Verizon stores you may have visited before, this store invites customers to see just how many ways wireless technology can enhance their lives.
“The store is designed for customers to come in and play with different types of wireless technology that they may not have known existed,” said Humphrey.
The store has four distinct stations; Amplify It, Get Fit, Have Fun and Home on the Go, each serving a purpose designed to make our “on the go lives” even easier.
“It’s like a technology candy land in here,” said Humphrey.
Our phones hold so much more than just music and pictures; they’re portable offices, even fitness centers. From analyzing your golf or baseball swing, to staying ahead of your health with a blood pressure accessory.
“It will send data right to your device, let you know what your blood pressure is as well as if you want to share with your doctor, there is an email link that gives you that data,” explained Verizon senior trainer, Dan Perttula.
And, for the traveling businessman or woman, portable copiers for scanning pictures or documents. You can even control appliances in your home with a wemo switch that allows you to turn light on or off from a remote location.
The Verizon SMart Store opens Friday at 3850 Alpine Avenue in Comstock Park. A second is scheduled to open in Kalamazoo late june.
