accident_generic_skidmarksKENT COUNTY, Mich. (June 9, 2014) — Alcohol and speed both likely played a role in a crash that left one man dead on Sunday night, according to police.

The crash happened at around 11:00 p.m. on Ashley Avenue in Grattan Township.  The driver, described as a 40-year-old man from Belding, lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was not wearing his seat belt, and both alcohol and speed were likely factors in this crash.
