THREE RIVERS, Mich. (June 5, 2014) — A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested in Three Rivers Wednesday for allegedly charging thousands of dollars on fraudulent credit cards, according to police.

The man is facing a credit card fraud charge and 17 counts of possession of fraudulent credit cards.  Police said in a release he was making “large purchases of cigarettes with these stolen credit card numbers.”

On one occasion more than $8,000 was charged at one location, police said.

After being arrested, the man allegedly gave police a false name.  They later found out he was wanted for the same type of crime in Indiana.

He is currently being held in the St. Joseph County Jail with no bond.
