KALAMAZOO, Mich. (May 15, 2014) — You’ve likely seen their brand of beers in grocery stores around West Michigan. Battle Creek-based Arcadia Ales Brewery is now expanding into Kalamazoo.
In a growing industry of craft beers, Arcadia Ales Brewery has found a way to stand out from its competition. It’s known for its British-style ales with distinct taste.
“One of the things that’s really unique about the way Arcadian brews their beer, there’s a small margin of people literally on the planet who brew beer in open top fermentation, which is what we do,” explained Sarah Bauman, marketing manager for Arcadia Ales Brewery. “When you sip them, they may taste quite different. A stout’s a stout, a porter’s a porter.”
Arcadia Ales is also known for its smoked and cured meats. The Brewery is a deli offering elegant taste in a quick and convenient format.
Having outgrown their original Battle Creek location, Arcadia Ale chose Kalamazoo for its expansion, the city its founders originally planned to settle in back in the ’90s.
The Kalamazoo location will produce four times as much beer, leaving its Battle Creek location for brew masters to get creative with your taste buds.
Their expansion opened up 50 new jobs for the area.
