KENT COUNTY, Mich. (May 11, 2014) — FOX 17 viewer Nikole Kulakowski sent us photos of a gigantic catfish she caught Saturday while fishing with her family at the Grand River near the Lowell area.
Kulakowski said she measured the fish to be roughly 33.5 inches long.
“I’m not sure how much it weighed, I just know it was very heavy,” she added.
Kulakowski lives in the Howard City area and said she was fishing with her mom and daughter when she caught this fish.
She said the hook was in a smaller fish’s mouth, and that that fish was inside the bigger fish’s mouth when she pulled it from the river.
“I love to cook up catfish,” she said, adding that she figured this one would feed quite a few people.
