MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich (May 9, 2014) – Authorities in Muskegon Township say they’ve arrested a man that’s accused of robbing a Fifth Third Bank early this morning.

32-year-old Chad Lawrence Martin was taken into custody at his home on West Creekwood Drive in Muskegon Township.  He’s being held at the Muskegon County Jail tonight.  He’ll likely face charges for Armed Robbery and for being an Habitual Offender.

Investigators say they’ve also recovered a large amount of money believed to have been stolen from the bank on Dykstra Road this morning.

Several law enforcement agencies assisted with the investigation leading up to tonight’s arrest.  Tips from the public were also helpful according to police.

According to online records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Martin was discharged from probation just over a month ago after serving time for assaulting a police officer.  He was released from prison in 2011.

His criminal record includes a felony assault conviction as well.
