GOBLES, Mich. (May 8, 2014) — More than two years after a fire destroyed a third of downtown Gobles, cleanup will begin.
According to the city, crews will start removing rubble between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., and the company that owns Hometown Pharmacy paid for the removal.
Once cleanup is complete, they will open a new Hometown Pharmacy in the area. A new driveway connecting to M-40 will also be built.
There were some issues regarding whether or not the project could be done, but it was eventually approved. Construction is expected to finish by the end of the year.
In April of 2012, Jan’s Oasis, Jan’s Trailside Cafe, and C.C.C. Bait and Tackle all burned to the ground.
