Kent County’s Byron Township

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (May 7, 2014) – Smoke could be seen for miles in southern Kent County Tuesday after fire broke out at a Byron Township home.

Fire crews were called to the home near the intersection of Celery and 92nd Streets after a home with gasoline inside started on fire.  At one point, it appeared the fire spread into a nearby wooded area.

Sheriff’s department deputies could be seen blocking the road way to keep people away from the scene because of concerns about the gasoline in the home.

Nobody was inside the home when the fire began.
