FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich (May 6, 2014) – A crash that sent a motorcycle driver to the hospital with multiple injuries is still under investigation by the Fruitport Township Police Department.
The crash happened Monday in the area of Shettler Road and Swanson Lane around 9:15 p.m.
Investigators say a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling eastbound on Shettler Road and attempted to turn northbound onto Swanson Lane, pulling into the path of the motorcycle traveling westbound.
Both the driver of the Pontiac and the motorcycle were conscious and alert when officers arrived on scene. The motorcyclist was thrown to the ground and sent to Hackley Hospital for multiple non-life threatening injuries. The motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Pontiac wasn’t injured.
The names of the drivers involved haven’t been released. Anyone that witnessed the crash is being asked to contact the Fruitport Township Police Department.
