GRAND RAPIDS/ WALKER, Mich. (May 4, 2014)- Motorists who take Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) in Grand Rapids and Walker may want to think about taking an alternate route starting on Monday.
MDOT is starting a resurfacing project on Lake Michigan Drive from I-196 to Wilson Drive in Walker. MDOT will also be replacing the curbs and upgrading the sidewalks.
Lane closures during the week are allowed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. In Walker most of the work will be done at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The westbound I-196 exit ramp to Lake Michigan Drive will be closed for one weekend during the construction project as will the entrance ramps from Lake Michigan Dr. to I-196 east and westbound.
This project is expected to be completed by the end of July.
