DOWAGIAC, Mich. (April 2, 2014) — Cass County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday said they were investigating reports of an abduction in Dowagiac.

According to a press release, juvenile witnesses told police they were playing in a parking lot near the 500 block of Riverside Drive and heard a woman yelling near the woods.  Police were contacted at about 7:18 p.m.

They told deputies that a man pulled the woman into the woods.

He is described in a release as a white male with brown hair wearing blue jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt with writing on it that may say “Aeropostale.”

The victim was described as a white teenager with straight, shoulder-length blonde hair and a pink zip-up sweater or sweatshirt.  No other descriptions were provided.

“Officers have conducted a canvas to help identify possible witnesses. Police K-9 has been searching the area with negative results,” the release said.

If anyone in the area has a family member or friend missing police are urging them to call 911 immediately.   Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is also urged to contact authorities as soon as possible.
