BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 31, 2014) — A 69-year-old Gobles man died Monday following an ATV crash.
The crash happened at about 9:56 a.m. in a corn field near the 12000 block of M-40 in Bloomingdale Township, according to a release.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was driving east through the field when his hat apparently began to come off. He attempted to grab his hat and accidentally hit the throttle.
He lost control of the ATV and it went onto two wheels, a friend he was with told deputies. The man fell from the vehicle and hit his head on the ground.
According to a release, he died a short while after being taken to the hospital.
