DETROIT, Mich. (March 24, 2014) — The Detroit Tigers announced Monday that there will now be metal detectors at all entrance gates at Comerica Park for the upcoming season.
“All fans will be screened as they enter Comerica Park, starting with this year’s season opener March 31 against the Kansas City Royals,” a release from the team said.
In addition to the metal detectors, streets around Comerica Park will also be restricted from vehicle traffic.
The team is urging all game attendees to arrive early, and said they are opening the ballpark two hours before all games to allow more time to enter.
