GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The medical examiner says a Forest Hills seventh-grader died from an accident at the hospital.
Kent County Medical Examiner Dr. Stephen Cohle told FOX 17 NEWS on Friday that 13-year-old Quiniece Tylene Henry of Grand Rapids died Feb. 13 from complications resulting from an intravascular line which caused a perforation to a chamber of her heart.
The girl suffered from Burkitt lymphoma, a fast growing cancer that originally was believed to have caused her death.
Henry died Feb. 13 in a hospital at 100 Michigan St. — the address of both DeVos Children’s Hospital and Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
She was a seventh-grader at Forest Hills Central Middle School.
Henry’s funeral was Feb. 22.
