GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 13, 2014) — Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park has announced the first three acts that will be performing in the 2014 Summer Concert Series. They include a popular Christian rock act, a country music superstar, and a group that will make you flash back to the disco era of the 1970’s.
Alternative Christian Rock band NeedToBreathe will take the stage on June 21. They are known for hits like “Washed by the Water” and “Something Beautiful.” The band’s new album will be released in April.
Country singer Jennifer Nettles will perform at Meijer Gardens on July 19. Best known as the leader of the group Sugarland, Nettles recently launched a solo career with her album That Girl.
You’ll want to break out the bell bottoms and butterfly collars on July 24 when KC and the Sunshine Band take the stage. A staple of parties, parades, and athletic events for four decades, the group is known for hits like “That’s the Way (I Like It),” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty.”
The remainder of the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens schedule will be announced in April. Meijer Gardens members will be able to purchase tickets starting April 26, they go on sale to the general public May 10.
