GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (February 11, 2014) — Grand Rapids Police have raided the area’s last two marijuana dispensaries. Employees were arrested for intent to deliver.

Investigators confirmed that on Feb. 7 search warrants were executed for Purple Med on Plainfield Avenue NE and Natural Wellness on Taylor Avenue NE.

This comes after the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that dispensaries are not part of the Medical Marijuana Act that voters passed in 2008. It means that those who use medial marijuana can only get it from a single caregiver or grow the plants themselves.

There are almost 118,000 medical marijuana card holders across the state.
