INDIANA — Janele Johnson Ellis was with five friends driving to surprise a friend in Grand Rapids when she got caught up in the intense pile-up on I-94 Jan. 23.
Ellis is originally from Grand Rapids but now lives in Texas.
The massive accident killed three people, including a couple from Grand Rapids, and shut down the eastbound highway for hours.
