WEST MICHIGAN — It’s easy for Michigan to deal with an Arctic blast, some snow, and wind chills below zero some of the time, but serve up a similar forecast almost a thousand miles south in Florida and everything grinds to a halt.
On Sunday I posted the attached photo of a Florida state sign from 2010, a pre-cursor to what may be coming. On Tuesday and Wednesday, snow/ice may be plaguing states from Texas, through the Gulf Coast, the Florida panhandle, in to the Mid-Atlantic and Carolinas. In fact, Winter Storm warnings have been posted for most of those states in advance of the arrival of a strong cold front. Take a look at this link with all the warnings/advisories.
Perhaps it’s a little comforting to know others across the United States, some as far as the deep south, are sharing in this Arctic blast. For West Michigan, we’ll gradually climb in to the middle teens for highs on Wednesday with some sunshine, then in to the 20s after that. Get the complete forecast at www.fox17online.com/weather.
