GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Four new events were added to the schedule of LaughFest, including a family competition and a show for pets and their owners.
LaughFest is the annual comedy festival that raises moey for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, which supports cancer patients. The festival runs March 6-16.

- Seriously Funny Family Adventure Challenge
Teams race around downtown Grand Rapids on March 16 with registration and fun challenges starting with registration at noon at Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse at Grand Rapids Community College. Free.
- People and Pets
Another event at Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse, March 9 at 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., this will feature pets and their owners (that’s you) with look-alike contest, best trick, and best costume. Free.
- Blackout Diaries
This one’s for grownups over 21, as comics and regular folks share true drinking stories, plus questions from the audience. The $30 tickets include two drink tickets, appetizers, and show hosted by Sean Flannery (Comedy Central, NPR and more) March 9 at Perrin Brewing Company.
- Carly Aquilino, Chris Distefano, and Andrew Schulz as seen on MTV’s Guy Code
Entertainment on the “different codes that exist between girls and guys” at the Kirkhof Center Grand River Room at Grand Valley State University in Allendale on March 13 at 9 p.m. Free with a Fast Pass with a $5 donation suggested at the door. (Fast Passes can be picked up beginning February 17 at LaughFest Central in the Grand Rapids Art Museum.)
