GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A lot of changes started up this year for students, parents, and staff members at Grand Rapids Public Schools. And now, the district’s superintendent wants to hear your feedback on the recently-implemented Transformation Plan.
Teresa Weatherall Neal is starting a ‘listening tour’ for Phase II of the Transformation Plan. You’ll remember, that plan included everything from requiring students to wear uniforms, to consolidating athletic teams, to closing down schools. It also allowed the district to expand its K-8 facilities, update theme schools, and re-open Stocking Elementary.
On the listening tour, the superintendent will be asking four questions:
- What is working?
- What is not working?
- What are the barriers?
- What are suggested solutions?
Superintendent Neal says insight from students, faculty, parents, and members of the community is incredibly valuable. Below is a list of upcoming dates for the listening tour. All meetings begin at 4:30 p.m. for faculty/staff, and at 6:00 p.m. for members of the community.
