GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Earlier this week, there was a possibility that West Michigan could have seen the Northern Lights due to a solar flare. That possibility still exists for Michigan and the Great Lakes region, but it’s likely your view was overshadowed by cloud coverage.
But there are still some fantastic images to be seen.
One website that could prove to be a good resource for shots of this week’s auroras, as well as prior events and other space weather phenomena, is here at the Space Weather Real-Time Image Gallery.
According to AccuWeather, Michigan and the Great Lakes region were among the areas that had a good chance of seeing Wednesday night’s/Thursday morning’s light display. If you were fortunate enough to have captured a great view, feel free to email your photos to news@fox17online.com or share them on our Facebook page.
