GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – West Michigan’s largest public school district said that it will make a decision Sunday evening whether to stay open or close tomorrow.
FOX 17 spoke with Grand Rapids Public Schools Spokesperson John Helmholdt who said a decision would be made by 11pm at the very latest.
Up to six inches of snow had fallen in Grand Rapids since 5:40pm Sunday evening, said FOX 17 Meteorologist Kevin Craig. Besides the snow threat, the biggest problem will be record-breaking cold temperatures of 20 to 30 degrees below zero.
