Children Receive Special Trikes

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– Some special needs children received an early Christmas Tuesday.

Santa Claus visited about 75 children at Ken-O-Sha Elementary School during a Christmas party, hosted by some AMBUCS members. The AMBUCS is a non-profit organization that helps create and provide mobility for people with disabilities.

Many of the children can’t ride bikes like other kids. So the AMBUCS presented them with special tricycles. They’re not only fun to ride, but are therapeutic.

“It gives you a great feeling working with these kids,” said AMBUCS member, Norm Vansickle. “And the parents are so grateful. We provide most of these bikes free gratus. Most of the parents who have kids here are tapped out financially, so we provide the bike and gives them therapy that they can not only use here but at home.”`

The AMBUCS have a long history working with the kids. They say their reactions keep them coming back every year.
