MARSHALL, Mich. — The suspect in an Indiana sex crime was found dead Tuesday in Calhoun County.
Matthew Refner, 29, died form an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Michigan State Police. His body was located at an unspecified motel in Marshall at roughly 4 p.m. when police were going to arrest him.
Refner was wanted for a felony parole violation and was a current suspect in a criminal sexual conduct investigation involving a weapon. Both crimes occurred in Indiana.
