MUSKEGON, Mich. — Diane Hart and her sister, Vicki Brill, were formally charged Friday morning with trying to hire a hit man..
The pair was charged with solicitation of murder, which can carry a sentence of any term of years, including life.
Both women were placed on $100,000 bond. Diane Hart, 45, was charged as a four-time habitual offender. Her record includes a breaking and entering charge from 1986.
Hart and Brill, 50, are accused of meeting with an undercover officer who was posing as a hit man and agreeing to pay $5,000 to kill one of their husbands, but at the moment it’s not clear if Gene Michael Hart, 51, of Ravenna, was the intended victim. But as a term of the sisters bond Hart is the only person listed as being no contact.
The women were arrested when Gene heard about their intentions from a family friend and notified police on the same day his wife, Diane, filed for divorce.
