LOWELL, Mich. — The 3-month-old baby found deceased at a Lowell daycare Tuesday died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), according to preliminary autopsy results.
Additional toxicology analysis is being performed by the Kent County Medical Examiner, but those results won’t be available for another six to eight weeks.
Investigators were called to the 500 block of Avery Street at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived at the facility, a day care worker was performing CPR on the baby. According to police, the child was taking a nap and when a worker checked up on them they noticed they weren’t breathing.
No foul play is suspected.
