The Sheriff says it happened on Algoma Avenue NE just north of 17 Mile Rd. NE. Deputies say one vehicle was going west on 17 Mile, stopped at the intersection and then continued north on Algoma Avenue. According to Deputies that driver was then distracted by a semi-truck who was blowing its horn at another car, the driver then turned too wide, coming into the south bound lane and hitting an on-coming car.
Deputies say the driver in the northbound car was not hurt and the driver of the southbound complained of head and neck pain. The passenger in the southbound car was determined to have internal injuries.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Department says alcohol was not a factor in the crash and they are still investigating.
