PORTAGE, Mich.- The southbound US 131 ramp from I-94 WB was closed for a couple of hours after an accident. It happened just before midnight on Saturday.
Portage Police say a 28 year-old man from Jackson was trying to take the ramp when he didn’t estimate the curve and lost control of his vehicle. He then hit the cement median wall and a guardrail.
The man was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. Police had to close the ramp for just over 2 hours in order to get everything cleaned up.
Police are still investigating but do not believe alcohol was a factor.
