Judge Puts $2 Million Bond On 15-Year-Old Charged In CraigsList Shooting

Court-gavel-and-justiceGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A 15-year-old charged in the laundromat craigslist shooting was ordered to await trial on a $2 million bond.

Schalama Harrell, 15, was scheduled to be tried as an adult on charges stemming from the shooting October 7 of two people who had answered a craigslist ad. The bond order was issued by 63rd District Court Judge Steven R. Servaas. The prosecutor’s office had requested the five-day hold in order to have time to decide how to proceed with charges.

Monday, Kent County Sheriff’s deputies sent to a laundromat the 3500 block of Plainfield Avenue NE in Grand Rapids Township found two people shot outside, ad 23-year-old and a 28-year-old. They had met Harrell there to conduct a transaction regarding a cell phone.
