Laundromat Shooting Suspect To Be Charged As Adult

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The 15-year-old suspect in a double-shooting over a Craigslist ad will be charged as an adult.

Kent County prosecutor’s office says that Schalama Harrell opened fire on two people Monday night while meeting up at Coin & Laundry near Plainfield Avenue to buy a cellphone from them.

Schalama Harrell will be charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, assault with intent to harm and three felony firearms charges.  If convicted on either of the first two charges, he could face a potential life sentence.
