LUDINGTON, Mich. — A “major announcement” in the Baby Kate case is scheduled Friday, according to Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette.
In a Thursday release, Schuette and Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola announced they would be holding a press conference at 11:45 a.m. at Ludington City Council Chambers, 500 S. Harrison St.
Sean Phillips, Kate’s father, was convicted of unlawful imprisonment in Mason County more than two years ago after fleeing with his daughter after an argument with her mother. Since that time, police said he wrote a letter admitting to killing his daughter, although he claimed it was an accident.
Despite a relentless search, including a recent one in June, her remains have not been found.
