GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — City Clerk Lauri Parks was removed from her position Tuesday following her performance review by the city commission.

According to a brief media release, city officials voted not to reappoint Parks for a one-year term in 2014 and immediately began a search for her replacement.  Until that replacement is found, her duties will be performed by Deputy City Clerk Darlene O’Neal.

No details were provided about the events surrounding Parks’ sudden removal.  She held the city clerk position for more than five years.
