motorcycle axWAVERLY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people on a motorcycle suffered serious injuries on Sunday evening, when a van turned in front of them, causing an accident.

The crash happened on M-40 south of M-43 in Van Buren County’s Waverly Township.  Deputies say the motorcycle was southbound on M-40 when a minivan tried to turn into a private drive at a gas station.  The motorcycle was unable to avoid a collision.

The rider and passenger of the motorcycle, both 54 years old, suffered serious injuries.  Neither of them were wearing helmets.  They were taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.  The driver of the minivan was also hospitalized after complaining of chest pain.

The case is being sent to the prosecutor for review.
