Police: Armed Bank Robbery Foiled After Teller Refused to Give Up Cash

bank robbery chase bank september 23GRAND RAPIDS,Mich. — A teller at the Chase Bank on Leonard Street NW refused to give up cash to an armed robbery suspect Monday afternoon, according to police.

The suspect entered the bank at around 2:45 p.m. and implied that he had gun.  After the teller refused to give them money, they fled on foot.  No one was injured.  As of 3:55 p.m. Monday, K-9 units had lost their scent in a nearby cemetery.

The suspect was described as a black male, light-complexion, 5-8, slim build, with some facial hair.

The suspect was wearing a dark coat and a baseball hat with a design on the front.

Police K-9 conducted a track from the bank without success.
