GRAND RAPIDS,Mich. — Mikayla Danielle Hull the suspect accused of snatching a woman’s purse in downtown Grand Rapids on September 17 was charged Sept. 19 with false info or report, first-degree home invasion, aggravated assault and larceny from a person.
It all happened in the middle of the afternoon at Monroe Center. Keean Mansour was making a delivery when he said he noticed something out of the ordinary.
“I was stopped at the intersection when I see this girl roll up on a bike right here in front of the Mediterranean restaurant,” Mansour said. “She just reaches over, grabs the lady’s purse and tries to roll off on her bike.”
But, Mansour was also on a bike.
“I hear, ‘Stop her!’ so I blast through the intersection,” Mansour said. “She thought she was quicker on a bike, but I was quicker.”
Mansour said he grabbed a hold of the woman and tried wrestling the purse away from her grip.
“I’m a pretty scrawny dude; like, two bigger guys came and helped me out and took her down,” Mansour said.
Once they had the woman on the ground Mansour said he went back to work.
The citizens held the suspect down until police arrived and took her into custody.
Hull is expected to be back in court on Sept. 30.
