EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan State University Police Department is investigating an assault and battery case that happened on September 14.
Police say at 1:00 a.m. near Lot 29 at the intersection of Akers Road and Shaw Lane, an 18-year-old student was walking to her residence hall. After she crossed onto South Shaw Lane, a man came out of some bushes, grabbed her from behind, and put his hands over her mouth.
According to police, the victim used personal protection spray that was on her key chain. The man let her go and she ran to safety.
