DEARBORN, Mich. — James P. Hackett, chief executive officer of Steelcase, is on the board of directors of Ford Motor Company effective immediately, Ford said in a statement Wednesday.
The carmaker hopes to take advantage of Hackett’s experience leading a company known for its design leadership, said Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford.
Steelcase, of course, has global headquarters in Grand Rapids and is a leader in the office furniture industry.
Hackett is also on the board of Fifth Third Bancorp.
