Pregnant Woman Charged in Connection With Trooper’s Death

MASON COUNTY, Mich.-Sarah Knysz, 20,  was charged Wednesday afternoon with crimes related to the fatal shooting of Michigan State Police trooper Paul Butterfield.

Knysz was charged in Mason County court with being an accessory after the fact and stealing a vehicle, both five year felonies. During her video arraignment, she clutched her pregnant stomach and cried.

Eric Knysz, her husband, is expected to be charged with homicide / murder of a police officer.  The 19-year-old  is still in the hospital after he was shot in the knee and is expected to be in court later this week.
