MSU to Build Biomedical Research Facility in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Michigan State University officials announced Thursday plans to develop an area of downtown Grand Rapids into a biomedical research facility.

Students and faculty from MSU’s Land POlicy Institute School of Planning, Design and Construction will be conducting research for the building in the coming weeks.  In January 2012, the university purchased 7.85 acres of land near the the schools Secchia Center in Grand Rapids.

The research team is expected to have a full report for MSU’s Board of Trustees by the end of the year.
