SPARTA, Mich. — The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall will be arriving in Sparta on Thursday, August 29, and it will be open to the public 24 hours a day through September 2.
The Moving Wall is over 250 feet long, and just over half the size of the Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.
The Wall will be escorted on M-37 from Westgate Bowl on a route that ends at Balyeat Field on Thursday morning. Anyone who owns a motorcycle is invited to be a part of the escort team. Participants will have to arrive at Westgate Bowl on Alpine between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m.
Opening ceremonies will be held at Rogers Park on North Union at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The Kent County Honor Guard will then lead a procession to the wall in Balyeat Field.
