DETROIT, Mich. — Superman and Batman are the heroes that Michigan deserves, and the state has approved millions in film incentives to show it.
According to The Detroit Free Press, the upcoming sequel to ‘Man of Steel’ that will see the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, and feature Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader, will film in Detroit. The Michigan Film Office approved $35 million in incentives for the project, which would be a huge boost to the economy: an estimated $131 million of in-state spending.
The film that stars two of the biggest comic book heroes of all time is expected to start production in early 2014. Filming will take place in metro Detroit and other areas of Michigan. More than 400 workers in Michigan are expected to be hired during the making of the film.
