GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After a wet and stormy morning around West Michigan, additional storms may become severe for parts of the area Tuesday evening.

Areas of rain with embedded thunder will slide through the region early in the day, tapering off to a few scattered showers or storms by midday.  Some breaks are likely during the afternoon, allowing more storms to fire up to the northwest of the FOX 17 viewing area again by late afternoon or early evening.  Those storms will likely move through at least parts of the state Tuesday evening into the overnight hours.

While the risk of widespread severe weather is not all that high, a few of the strongest storms may contain some damaging wind gusts.

Hot, humid conditions will hang around during the day Tuesday, with even limited sunshine pushing temperatures well into the 80s.

Rain will clear out overnight, and some slightly less humid air will arrive on Wednesday.  However, temperatures will still remain will above average through the end of the week.
