Michigan Blood Kicking Off Campaign to Encourage New Donors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Michigan Blood is kicking off their “Be Somebody, Bring Somebody” campaign to encourage donors to invite someone new to give blood.

The event runs Aug. 27-30 at donor centers throughout the state:

  • Grand Rapids, 1036 Fuller NE
    Aug. 27-29: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    Aug. 30: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Grandville Donor Center, Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Avenue
    Aug. 28 & 29: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Kalamazoo Area Donor Center, 524 E. Milham, Portage
    Aug. 28 & 29: 11 a.m. — 7 p.m.
    Aug. 30: 8 a.m. — 4 p.m.
  • Saint Joseph Donor Center, 2710 Cleveland Avenue
    Aug. 27: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saginaw Donor Center, 1771 Tittabawassee Road
    Aug. 27-29: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    Aug. 30: 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Bay City Donor Center, 1017 North Jackson
    Aug. 28 & 29: noon –7 p.m.
    Aug. 30: 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Dow Diamond Donor Center, Midland, 825 Main Street
    Aug. 27-30: 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Midland Donor Center at MidMichigan Medical Center, 4005 Orchard Drive
    Aug. 27: noon –7 p.m.
    Aug. 30: 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Traverse City Donor Center, 2575 Aero Park Drive
    Aug. 27 & 29, 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Aug. 28 & 30: 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

It’s recommended that you make an appointment, either online, or by calling 1-866-miblood, and you are asked to bring a photo id.

During the event, donors will receive a Michigan Blood Club t-shirt, and returning donors who bring someone new have the chance to win adventure packages from Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark, Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Great Wolf Lodge, and Binder Park Zoo.

Healthy people 17 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can give blood every 56 days.
