KENT COUNTY, Mich. – Multiple calls came into 911 early Thursday morning after drivers came upon a thick plastic strewn across Lincoln Lake Road in Kent County.

One of the people who came upon the material told FOX 17 that he removed the plastic just in time, but not before it gave him some trouble.

“When I first seen it I didn’t know what it was,” Terry Curtis said. “I had to hit the brakes, kind of went off the road a little bit.”

He said when he got out of his car he called 911.

“911 said there was people there that didn’t feel comfortable getting out of their car in case they got jumped,” Curtis said.

However, that didn’t stop him from springing into action. He said he looked around to make sure the area was safe, then removed the material, inch by inch.

“There was a thick plastic, probably three-foot high, stretched all the way across the road about four times,” Curtis said. “Tight to where a vehicle could go through it but a motorcycle couldn’t have stood a chance. It’s more than a prank, ya know? It could’ve been dangerous.”

Authorities said they don’t know who placed the plastic there. When they arrived, Curtis had already removed it.
