KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Jeffrey Marchione, the former counselor accused of having 42,000 images of child porn on his computer, attempted to commit suicide during his arrest Aug. 5 for a different local sex crime.
According to federal court documents, Marchione, 47, “attempted to commit suicide by abusing prescription medication.” During his two days at the hospital following the overdose, he said that he wanted to die.
Because of this attempt, federal prosecutors have asked that the court revoke Marchione’s bond. The preliminary hearing for his Aug. 9 CSC charges was initially scheduled for Aug. 21, but it was unclear if these new developments will impact that in any way.
